FEMS Grants

Some fellowships for Young Scientists will be offered by FEMS. All grant applications will be evaluated and ranked by the Organising Committee on the basis of the candidate's scientific curriculum and country of origin Awardees will be notified before the beginning of the meeting. The deadline for applying is 13 February 2017.

Eligibility rules

The applicant must:

  • register for the meeting and submit an abstract as presenting author;
  • be a member of a FEMS Member Society, confirmed by any officer of her/his society;
  • be less than 36 years of age at the closing date of the meeting;
  • be an active microbiologist.

Application procedure

The applicant must register for the meeting throught the online system and submit an abstract.

After registration, throught the personal myIMYA12 page, one single PDF file must be uploaded, containing the following documents:

  • the Young Scientist Meeting Grant Application form duly filled in (download a PDF copy HERE );
  • a Curriculum Vitae, clearly stating personal details and an overview of educational and professional career of the candidate;
  • a list of publications (only accepted papers);
  • confirmation by an officer of the FEMS member Society to which the applicant subscribes;
  • a copy of an identity document with a date of birth.

For the application to be evaluated, the registration fee must be paid within the grant application deadline. Awardees will need to provide bank account details at the Registration Desk upon arrival and the grant amount will be transferred in the following days (i.e., any awardee who does not attend the meeting will forfeit the grant).
